William Henry Snow papers, 1831-1902; 1934 [manuscript].

Correspondence, financial and legal papers, and other items of members of the Snow and Tomlinson families chiefly of Guilford County, N.C., and of David Jordan of Guilford County and Davidson County, N.C. Included are three letters, 1853, from William Henry Snow, one written in the Cape Verde Islands and two in Australia, discussing natural surroundings and the possibility of settling in Australia; six Civil War letters from Snow concerning his military experiences in the 6th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment; scattered Snow and Tomlinson family correspondence; miscellaneous business and legal papers, chiefly 1840-1865, of Josiah Tomlinson, Clarkson Tomlinson, William S. Tomlinson, and David Jordan, including a few items relating to Jordan's work as a teacher in common schools in Davidson County, and about forty items, 1856-1860, relating to a lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Randolph County, N.C.
